Joseph PERKIN
1. He worked as a Wheelwright all his life in Cheshire. "The wheelwright made and repaired the wooden wheels of horse drawn vehicles. Without the work of the wheelwright, village life would have come to a standstill. The wheels that he made were vital for the transport of people, goods and animals. The community needed wheels for carts, wagons, carriages and farm equipment". 2. He appeared on the census in 1841 in Little Shipcroft Farm, Appleton. 3. He appeared on the census in 1851 in Appleton, Cheshire. 4. He appeared on the census in 1861 near the Birch and Bottle, Whitley Superior. 5. He appeared on the census in 1871 in Hodge Lane, Weaverham. 6. He appeared on the census in 1881 in Beech Lane, Weaverham. 7. He appeared on the census in 1891 in Witton, Cheshire. Joseph married Fanny BROOMHEAD, daughter of John Mark BROOMHEAD and Sarah ROSE, on 21 May 1868 in Warrington, St Paul. (Fanny BROOMHEAD was born in 1847 in Bakewell, Derbyshire, christened on 18 Feb 1847 in Bakewell, Derbyshire and died after 1901.) Joseph also married Martha MOSELEY, daughter of Robert MOSELEY and Martha UNKNOWN, in 1846 in Stretton, St. Matthew. (Martha MOSELEY was born about 1822 and died on 28 Feb 1850 in Northwich.) |
